I have rather specific needs since I do very fine work on small items and I have to wear a space suit so I can't take glasses on and off while doing this work. I had to go back twice to get the exact right prescription that worked for me but the doc was absolutely dedicated to getting me the best glasses possible. Also the guys in the shop portion were very helpful with helping pick out frames and with fitting them to my apparently lopsided head. Love the glasses I ended up with. In the past my new glasses have always taken a little bit of getting used to but these ones I was immediately wowed by when I put them on.
Over-priced jerks. I only had to call this location to find out they over charge for contact lenses and they are total jerks. I called to see how much they charge for contact lenses- they quoted me $70/box. Every other location in the area I have called so far has not quoted more than $40/box. That is ridiculous--$70 for a box (6 lenses) of contacts. And the guy was a snarky tool about the interaction as well. Won't be going here and if you do, be prepared to get royally bent over on contact lens prices.
Went here for the first time today. I had a very pleasant experience. Made an appointment on the same day for an eye exam. Once arrived, I was assisted right away and got my eye exam not too soon after paper work was filled out.
The two guys there were nice and helpful. One of them is George; a very pleasant guy. I didn't ask for the other one's name. They were patient when customers were looking for glasses; they didn't stand around to make you feel like you're being rushed.
The doctor was super thorough and friendly. She did some extra tests as I mentioned my eyes do hurt once awhile. She also recommended some eye drops, etc.
A nice woman who was picking out glasses saw that I was having a tough time deciding between glasses. She was awesome and offered her advice and help (and even helped me pick out some pairs). In return, I was also helping her choose between her chosen 3-4 pairs. That just shows how many variety of glasses and choices they offer! Lots of high end brands to pick from. Leaves you quite indecisive, but the environment is nice enough that you don't feel like you have to rush.
Once eye glasses were picked out, everything else went just as smoothly. I highly recommend this place. The people are so friendly and so many choices for the glasses.
I've been going to this Pearle Vision for years, and everyone on the staff greets me like I was family on every visit. They are very pleasant, fair, and offer one hour service in many cases. They honor my insurance for great discounts, and when my prescription changed a few times after cataract surgeries, they replaced the lenses free. And, it was their optometrist who was honest enough to tell me years ago that to improve my vision, I'd need cataract surgeries, and referred my to Br. Baum, the best in his field.
I can't say enough great things about my experience here. I have never been so happy with the level of customer service and attention as I am with every staff member at Pearle. Especially Tony. He is the prime example of what customer service should be. Everyone who owns a retail store should rent an hour from him and take notes on how to train employees to maximize customers. Just an all around excellent experience, through in and through out.
I was going to My Eye Doctor on Rockville Pike for years prior to coming to Pearle. They were the ruddiest, most money hungry animals I have ever had the displeasure of meeting.
Do yourself a huge favor and visit Tony and the guys at Pearle Vision in Wheaton. You will never go anywhere else. I can assure of that much.
